Well hello.. what unprecedented times we are currently living in and a challenge for us all. Little did I think when I opened the boutique 2 years ago that my biggest business obstacle would be a deadly virus hitting the world yet here we are.
So many of you know me, some may not and a few weeks ago I was asked a question which links me to my very first blog right here! “Do you use your face as the face of the business?”
The truth is, I am extremely proud of my achievements in establishing Bellus Amor and have managed to build a reputation for myself and believe being a recognisable figure in the business world is a huge benefit- I mean who else knows more about why I am so passionate about my business and where I want to see my business go than me! Customers trust me and over the 2 years of trading I have built a strong connection with my loyal ladies, it makes the business more familiar and approachable in that people can relate to my face rather than words and a logo.
Before opening I remember reading an article about consumer trust and how once clients gain trust in companies they are more likely to buy from you and recommend your services to others- boy have I discovered that is right! There is a few words that still stick in my head from a quote someone once said to me when opening “It will never work – people shop online now!” … Well yes I agree many do shop online but I am 100% certain in saying “online isn’t always best” Independent business owners like myself bring so much more. Originality, a customer focused experience and expertise and knowledge on something specific- in my case BRAS and BOOBS. We bring personality and character to the UK Highstreet and statistically we are the backbone to the local economy and when you see those social media posts claiming when you shop local a real person does a happy dance… we really do. I sleep and breath Bellus Amor and it’s now a huge part of my life, its so much more than a job!
And now here I am two years in, an award under my belt and a business that was growing from strength to strength before Corona raised her ugly head! … So yes it did work, not only because I believed in myself but because I built a strong and loyal following of customers who also believe in me and that is why I use my face to proudly represent the business.
